Vitamin C has been scientifically proven to significantly help ageing skin. A lesser know fact is the combination of Vitamins A and E with Vitamin C is
the key to the best serum available. The synergy generated when vitamins A, C & E are combined is the bench mark when it comes to fighting the
signs of aging. MiSMo has used science with a little help from nature to create its A-C-E Vitamin Serum.
Vitamin A – Known as the skin vitamin, Retinyl Palmitate is a safe form of vitamin A and works on the cellular turn over. In younger skin,
cells turnover around every 28 days. As we age this slows down and by late 40’s and older cell turnover can be up to 60 days. Slow cell turnover can
result in many layers of dead skin cells making the complexion look dull. Vitamin A will accelerate the shedding of dead skin cells returning that
Vitamin C – This vitamin is an anti-oxidant so its job is to repair and encourage new, even cell growth. Vitamin C is also a melanin inhibitor.
Over production of melanin shows up in the form of brown patches and freckles. Vitamin C encourages a more refined and even skin look, it reduces the
appearance of pigmentation and smooths the feel of the skin.
Vitamin E – The topical benefits of vitamin E are that it offers protection to the fat layer in the cell structure. This results in keeping
moisture in the skin. If you take the moisture away from the skin, the skin becomes dry and wrinkled.
MiSMo firmly believe that Vitamin C is a necessity when it comes to anti-ageing, so we incorporate it into two anti-ageing products, A-C-E Vitamin Serum and Anti-Wrinkle cream. These two products
are part of the Anti-Ageing trio and quad packs. Vitamin C is an important nutrient which is a vital component in the body’s production of collagen.
These building blocks keep the skin plump and young looking.
Vitamin C is also a potent antioxidant that can help rejuvenate aged skin and skin that has become photo-damaged due to over exposure of ultra violet rays.
Over time this exposure causes deep set wrinkles, fine lines, brown marks due to the over production of melanin and loss of collagen and elastin. Think
of collagen as the frame that holds up the elastin – the bounce in our skin.
The type of Vitamin C used in serums and creams is extremely important. An oil form of Vitamin C called “ascorbyl tetra-isoplaminate” (or VCIP is a shortened
name in the industry), is more effective than other forms of Vitamin C and has proved to keep its potency for 12-18 months.
