Magnesium is the 4th most abundant mineral in the human body, regulating our energy levels while keeping us healthy. It plays a pivotal role in cellular energy production, generating one of the body’s major forms of energy (ATP - adenosine triphosphate). That’s why magnesium deficiency may make you feel tired and groggy.

MISMO Magnesium Chloride (hexahydrate) is an ideal source of supplemental magnesium, either taken orally, or mixed with water to create an oil for transdermal application. Sufficient levels of magnesium are necessary to maintain a healthy heart, healthy bones, and to regulate blood sugar and blood pressure levels. Your body needs magnesium to generate energy.

MISMO Magnesium Chloride hexahydrate flakes is pure food grade, suitable for oral consumption or making your own magnesium oil. You can also use it as a foot or bath soak, but we think it is too good for this (we have our Magnesium Bath Flakes for this purpose).  MISMO magnesium is ecologically collected from an isolated, pristine, inland lake located at high altitude on the Tibetan Plateau, and is 99.99% pure.

Why should I be taking Magnesium?

Magnesium is a necessary mineral for health and wellness that can be difficult to obtain simply through diet. People have become very aware in recent years of the necessity and numerous benefits of this very important mineral.

What are the benefits of Magnesium Chloride?

Magnesium is a muscle relaxant so tight muscles are released. The heart is our largest muscle so for best health take an optimum dose of Magnesium daily. Conditions or problems that benefit from magnesium supplements are:

  • Insomnia
  • Muscle pain
  • Cramps
  • Use Magnesium oil on teeth to strengthen enamel
  • Restless legs
  • Headaches
  • Diabetic Neuropathy and Inflammation

How do I make magnesium oil?

Products such as Magnesium Chloride Oil produced from Magnesium Chloride Flakes can be absorbed transdermally and can be effective alternatives to taking Magnesium supplements internally.

Transdermal use of Magnesium Chloride eliminates the risk of digestive upset that can occur when taking magnesium supplements internally. Magnesium Chloride Flakes can easily be combined with boiling distilled water to produce Magnesium Chloride Oil. Alternatively, the flakes can be incorporated into a wide array of topical and bath formulations.

To make a maximum-strength magnesium oil, dissolve 50g of magnesium chloride flakes in 50ml of warm water. Store in a spray bottle for ease of use. Magnesium oil can be sprayed onto the arms, legs or abdomen and then gently rubbed into the skin to be fully absorbed. Apply at night for a general calming effect, to promote relaxation, and to help with sleep.

This will be a very strong 50% mix. Many magnesium oils on the market contain around 30% magnesium chloride so you can experiment with this mix. Magnesium Oil is not an oil but a concentrated mix of Magnesium Chloride suspended in water. The liquid feels like oil resulting in the name magnesium oil.

How to make super magnesium oil (with MSM)?

Mix 50mls Magnesium flakes in 50mls water add 15 grams (3 heaped teaspoons) MSM. Store in a spray bottle for ease of use.

How much Magnesium Chloride should I take if taking orally?

For oral consumption, dissolve 2 to 5 grams (half to a full teaspoon) in water or fresh juice and take once per day. A full-teaspoon (approx. 5 grams) is the equivalent of 600mg of elemental magnesium. Note the recommended daily allowance is between 320mg and 450mg of elemental magnesium.

You may like to start with 1/4 teaspoon and work up to 1/2 or 1 teaspoon a day. Some people may develop loose stools when too much is taken in a dose and this is why we recommend working up to a full dose and establish your ideal dose.

Can I use Magnesium Chloride flakes as a foot/bath soak?

You can ... but we think it is way to good for this purpose! Better to get some of our Magnesium Bath Flakes.

How should I store the magnesium flakes?

KEEP IN A COOL DRY PLACE WITH LID FIRMLY TIGHTENED.

Depending on environmental conditions, please be aware Magnesium Chloride flakes may appear to 'melt' and become wet. This is due to Magnesium being hydroscopic and it will take on water from the air if not stored properly. This melting is a sign of purity and does not change or reduce the effectiveness of the Magnesium Chloride.
