MAGNESIUM CHLORIDE FOR RELAXATION
Magnesium offers many health benefits for a range of health conditions including muscle pain, help with sleeplessness, headaches and cramps. However, in addition to these well known qualities, another major benefit this wonderful mineral has to offer is relaxation.
Not only does Magnesium possess powerful relaxation properties for relieving any muscle tension in your body but it can also significantly benefit the nervous system too, helping you to relax. In fact, researches have been known to refer to Magnesium as, “the anti-stress mineral.”
Responsible for over 325 different biochemical processes in the body, it is safe to say that Magnesium plays an integral role to our health and well-being and is worth considering if you are feeling in a constant state of stress.
There are many ways you can incorporate Magnesium into your life and these include taking it orally or using it transdermally (on your body). MiSMo encourages a transdermal approach because Magnesium Chloride is absorbed by the body very easily, bypassing the digestive system, so side effects like diarrhea that are often associated with many of the oral forms are avoided.
There are many different forms of Magnesium so when looking for a magnesium to apply topically always use Magnesium Chloride. Also check the purity of the Magnesium as this does vary.
WAYS TO DE-STRESS WITH MAGNESIUM CHLORIDE
If you’re looking for ways to use Magnesium Chloride to help de-stress, try one of the options below;
• A Magnesium bath. Just add 1/4 cup of Magnesium Chloride Powder to a warm bath and enjoy the calming benefits this wonderful mineral has to offer. As an added bonus you will also find you’ll sleep very soundly.
• Foot soak. Simply add 1/4 cup of Magnesium Chloride Powder to warm water in a foot spa or bucket of water and soak your feet for 20-25mins. This will allow the Magnesium to absorb into your body.
• Make your own Magnesium Oil. Mix 50 grams of Magnesium Powder to 50mls warm drinkable distilled water and add to a spray bottle for ease of use. Spray on your body (legs, feet, arms, tummy and back) Inner thighs, inner arms and under arms are great locations for absorption too. Keep in mind this will be a very strong 50% mix and most magnesium oils on the market contain around 30% magnesium chloride so you can experiment with this mix.
1g of Magnesium Chloride Powder contains 120mg of elemental magnesium. There are 1,000mg in 1g. The daily recommended dosage of elemental magnesium is approximately 400mg but magnesium deficient people need more.

What Is MSM?
MSM or its full name, Methyl Sulfonyl Methane is a crystalline supplement, a source of Organic Sulphur. MSM is a pain relief and general wellness supplement which is easily absorbed by the body. MSM is neither a drug nor a medicine, but a naturally occurring nutrient that provides the body with essential sulfur and methyl groups that are used in the healing and repair processes.
How Does MSM Help Sports Injuries?
According to the foremost expert on MSM, Stanley W. Jacob, M.D., the substance, when taken as a supplement, exerts potent anti-inflammatory activity, stops pain impulses and muscle spasm, and improves blood supply. MSM strengthens the collagen and the other connective tissue in the joints, it also allows the body to heal faster by making the tissues even stronger.
The body’s natural response to an injury is to become swollen and inflamed, the anti-inflammatory aspects of MSM helps diminish this pain and makes the joints feel less inflamed.
MSM has many benefits for sporting injuries:
-Inhibits pain impulses along nerve fibers and thus has an analgesic effect.
-Reduces inflammation and muscle spasm, both of which contribute to lessened pain and soreness.
-Increases blood supply.
-Softens scar tissue.
How Do I Take MSM?
MSM looks like sugar and is water soluble so can be taken dissolved in water or fruit juice. Up to 80g daily, by mouth, under the care of a GP. From research by Dr Jacob and others however, it appears that 2g to 8g daily is sufficient in normal situations (Such as an immune system booster) reduce or increase as required–taken with vitamin C can improve the effect. The world’s top MSM authority Dr. Jacob has taken 30grams MSM daily for the past 20yrs – no side effects, colds or flu!!
Avoid MSM tablets, capsules and pills as the majority contain inexpensive and undesirable bulk fillers
Actual Results From Real People!
Hi I recently purchased your MSM Sulfur and I am amazed at the results I’m getting. This is truly a miracle product. I have suffered from back pain for 10 years and after two weeks on MSM I began feeling like I did when I was 15 years old. No pain, lots of energy and very alert.
In the mornings I’m usually at my worst and with strong back pain and fatigue that compounds from the prior days back pain, I drag myself out of bed and spend the next three hours trying to warm up and wake up. The dull ache stays with me all day.
Now I’m getting up feeling no back pain, I spring out of bed, I’m alert, no more fatigue or grumpy behaviour for the first three hours of the day, I can actually function from the beginning to the end of my day. I feel great.
It’s been 6 weeks now and I still can’t believe how much it has relieved my back pain not to mention the other benefits. Thank you for such a great product.

Hi, I started taking MSM powder a few months ago to try and help with joint pains I’ve had since I was in my teens (a skiing accident) and twenties (a chiropractic manipulation gone wrong). I’m in my thirties now and pain free for the first time in over fifteen years. I’m thrilled with the difference MSM has made for me. – I’ve no joint pain and it’s the middle of winter! (I also take fish oils and have done so for years but they have only ever provided intermittent relief). Thank you so much.
I’ve finally been able to drop off to sleep after lying in bed tossing and turning for what feels like hours. For whatever reason, I am awake again and its only 1am. My mind starts to whir and it is hard to try and get back to sleep. I eventually close my eyes and succumb to sleep only to wake to the alarm feeling I’ve hardly had an ounce of sleep all night. I feel exhausted and not well rested at all.
If this scenario is something you experience on a regular basis then perhaps it might be time to explore the reasons why this might be happening and then consider adding the mineral Magnesium into your evening ritual.
Now you might be wondering why should I consider this and how exactly will Magnesium help me to sleep? Well here’s a couple of reasons.
Studies have found magnesium helps to decrease cortisol, which is also known as the “stress hormone.” In other words, cortisol is the flight or fight response your body produces when it feels threatened or under stress. Because Magnesium is able to decrease this chemical reaction, stress is then reduced which in turn can induce feelings of sleepiness and comfort which then helps to promote sleep.
In addition to decreasing cortisol, the sleep doctor adds, “Magnesium plays a role in supporting deep, restorative sleep by maintaining healthy levels of GABA (Gamma-amino butyric acid is an amino acid in the body that acts as a neurotransmitter in the central nervous system. It limits nerve transmission, inhibiting nervous activity), a neurotransmitter that promotes sleep.”
Another factor to consider, is muscle tension or cramps keeping you up at night? If so, this could indicate your body is low in magnesium. Muscle relaxant is vital for a good night sleep. Keeping your Magnesium levels topped up will ensure painful muscle cramps don’t happen. Tip – Apply MiSMo’s Magnesium Gel Forte with MSM roller bottle before going to bed and keep close on your bedside table.
If you’re looking for something to “knock you out”, Magnesium is not it, but it WILL help you to feel relaxed which in turn can lead to a better sleep. As an extra bonus, by using this mineral daily your health and well-being will be bolstered thanks to the many and varied health benefits it has to offer.
In 1968, during a long and difficult delivery of her first child, Hermine Zubko suffered a hairline crack of a spinal bone in her lower back. In the weeks and months that followed Zubko experienced intermittent sever back pain. Over time, the pain became constant and frequently disabled her.
“There were many occasions when I couldn’t sit, bend, stand or walk without excruciating pain”, she says. Zubko was forced to give up her hair salon business. The pain had become overwhelming forcing her to try anti-inflammatories. She took them on and off but they gave her stomach pain and diarrhea.
The minuscule fracture in her spine eluded detection by contemporary X ray and other diagnostic methods for many years however, through MRI’s and more sophisticated medical diagnostics finally found Zubko to have severe arthritis, inflammation and thick scar tissue at the site of the original trauma. Degenerative arthritis is frequently associated with back pain. In Zubko’s case the arthritis developed as a consequence of the injury to the spinal bone tissue as well as the ageing process.
Following her diagnosis an orthopedic surgeon initiated a treatment program of cortisone injections along with physical therapy 3 times a week. The program was not successful and the pain continued. Another specialist offered her some glorified aspirin but said basically there was nothing he could do for her.
By now Zubko had been living with pain for more than 15 years. Zubko had practically lost all hope and couldn’t stand the pain anymore. Zubko’s salvation from pain came as a result of a conversation during a physical therapy session. Her therapist suggested she could benefit from regular use of MSM.
Under the care of Dr Stanley Jacob she started taking MSM a few times a day. It took quite a while to feel results, but Dr Jacob kept encouraging her to continue. He said that for some people results came fast and for others it takes longer, each individual and each condition is different.
Then one day, eight months later, Zubko woke up with no pain. She was able to walk, bend, return to work full time and finally get her life back.
You might wonder how the pain could disappear from one day to the next after many months of taking the supplement? In her situation, there was likely a very gradual reduction of inflammation and pain until one day she passed a threshold where the pain level is reduced to the point where it is no longer perceived by the brain.
There are many more fantastic case studies in The Miracle of MSM. Under the care of Dr Stanley Jacob and Dr Ronald M Lawrence thousands of patients were able to find significant relief using the nutritional supplement MSM from health conditions like degenerative arthritis, chronic back and headache pain, fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel syndrome and many more.

We speak to many customers weekly who are dealing with pain. Ruth was one of these customers, who recently underwent hip replacement surgery. When we spoke to Ruth we suggested she would get the most pain relief benefits by using Cell Soother followed by Magnesium Gel Forte with MSM and this was her result;
“I have recently had a total hip replacement and yes, it is painful! I asked my partner to massage some of this wonderful gel onto the op site and it gave me a lot of relief, there was no congestion from damaged soft tissue which meant no swelling and less pain. I have also used the Cell Soother prior to applying the Mag Forte Gel and that does enhance the effects again.
I can’t recommend these products enough! Awesome!”
Another customer sprained her ankle while overseas and suffered a great deal of swelling and pain. After applying Cell Soother then Magnesium Gel Forte with MSM the pain was gone within the hour and she was able to continue to enjoy her holiday.
If you’re looking for some extra pain relief benefits then MSM Relief Packs can help with this.
Magnesium is an amazing muscle relaxant. I already knew this however, on a recent skiing trip I was so pleased at just how quickly magnesium worked to relax my aching thighs and sore neck muscles from the many skiing tumbles!
Early into the trip I had my Magnesium roller bottle circulating throughout the group who were also suffering various aches and pains with many genuinely surprised at the instant relief received.
There is no doubt, I don’t think I would’ve been able to get through six days of back to back skiing without my Magnesium!
So how does Magnesium work to relax muscles? Low magnesium results in lactic acid build up, so by topping up my Magnesium I was able to avoid any lactic acid build up. (Lactic acid is produced in muscles as a result of high intensity exercise which causes )
Magnesium is also vital in regards to muscle contraction. Ryan Hass from Livestrong explains it perfectly when he says,“ Magnesium directly interacts with your muscle tissue through a process called ion transportation. When magnesium contacts your cell membranes, it bonds with specific receptor sites that open up the cell membrane and allow other mineral ions to enter, such as calcium and potassium. These ions help regulate muscle contractions and ease muscle tension.”
MiSMo combines magnesium and MSM (source of organic Sulphur) in a powerful pain relief formulation called Magnesium Gel Forte with MSM. MSM is also well known for its pain relieving qualities and reducing any inflammation. The two minerals work very well together and was just what we needed on our recent trip. (I took the Magnesium Gel Forte with MSM roller bottle, a very handy size for traveling.)
Magnesium and MSM can help with any form of exercise whether it is a jog, a workout session at the gym, a game of tennis or even a day of gardening. All of these could benefit greatly from a dose of magnesium and MSM to help revive your muscles and get you back to a pain free day that you are able to enjoy.
Exercising regularly has many benefits as I am sure you already know. Benefits that extend to not only your physical and mental well-being but a host of many other extras like increased energy, better sleep and can be very positive socially too.
According to recent research Australian’s over 40 are not exercising as much as they should and “only around one in 10 Australians over the age of 50 exercises enough to gain any cardiovascular benefit. Some estimates suggest that about half of the physical decline associated with old age may be due to a lack of physical activity.”
Staying healthy doesn’t have to be hard just 30 mins a day and a mixture of aerobic and muscle strengthening activity is all that is required according to health experts.
Some aerobic activities include a brisk walk with friends, partaking in one of your favourite dance classes like ballroom or line dancing, playing doubles tennis, even mowing the lawn weekly can be considered part of your exercise routine.
While muscle strengthening activities include, pilates, yoga, gardening, small weights and moving around heavy loads like groceries.
Try to incorporate the strength type activities two to three times a week with a view to eventually fitting them in daily.
An easy movement tip – Lunges are also a strengthening activity and are an easy one to incorporate into your daily activities, for example when there is an ad break in your favourite TV show, get up and do a few lunges until your program comes back on. Variety is key, so try and mix it up a little.
If you get into the habit of moving regularly you can expect to increase your wellbeing in departments like –
- Healthy cardiovascular benefits
- Strengthening exercises can help keep bones strong and healthy
- Keep joint pain at bay – ( MSM
can also help to reduce this further)
If you need a bit of motivation to get you started then –
- Try an activity that you actually like and are interested in.
- Why not organise a group of your friends to exercise with?
- Don’t put too much pressure on yourself to get results fast. Take it easy but be consistent with your exercise and more importantly have fun doing
The cause for migraines is still not known, Dr Carolyn Dean explains, “they are thought to be due to an imbalance in brain chemicals that can lead to inflammation. The low grade inflammation can cause brain blood vessels to swell and irritate nearby nerves and cause pain.
However, what researchers are not considering is that magnesium deficiency will make the smooth muscles of blood vessels more irritable and susceptible to inflammation. The same thing happens with nerves. In magnesium deficiency nerve cells become more irritated. It all makes sense if you consider magnesium deficiency as an underlying trigger to migraines”, Dr Dean goes on to say.
So with this in mind, considering boosting your magnesium levels could be a solution. You are able to supplement your Magnesium levels in a few different ways. To avoid side effects like diarrhea you can try a transdermal magnesium like Magnesium Chloride Powder. Taking a bath with Magnesium Chloride Powder is recommended as just one way to treat migraines.
Making your own Magnesium oil and applying this directly to your body focusing particularly on the back of your neck and the temples, is another option. Magnesium works two fold – helping to give your body the much needed magnesium boost while relaxing any muscular tension and calming the nervous system.
Alternatively, if you don’t have the time to make your own Magnesium Oil then there’s MiSMo’s Magnesium Gel Forte with MSM. This is a unique transdermal body gel formulation that contains a very high percentage of Magnesium Chloride Powder fortified with MSM (source of organic Sulphur). This particular gel does not sting nor leave any sticky residue and absorbs quickly into the skin.
Being consistent with your magnesium supplementation and making sure you are using it daily is very important and also the best way to give you a chance at effectively dealing with migraines.
While Magnesium is a mineral worth considering, it is always recommended to seek the advice from a health practitioner to determine the best treatment solution for you.
Snoring. We’ve all done it at some point in our lives however, if it is happening regularly each night, and causing disruption to other people’s sleep, then it might be worth looking into why it is happening.
Snoring according to Snore Australia, is “when the muscles of the airway relax too much during sleep and vibrate (creating noise) when air we breathe passes in and out. “
They also go onto to suggest common causes of snoring, some of which include;
• Eating too much at night
• Nasal Congestion
• Being overweight
• Sleep position
• Swollen adenoids or tonsils, especially in children
There are quite a few options in regards to treatment for snoring, a great one to consider is visiting a Sleep Physican who specialises in sleep disorders and can make an informed recommendation and suggested treatment.
In addition to this, there are also some lifestyle changes that can also help. Considering a weight loss program if this is a factor may help to decrease snoring as will stopping smoking. Not only does smoking pose big health risks, but “tobacco smoke causes the walls of airways to retain fluid and swell (this is called oedema). This causes the airway to narrow, worsening snoring. Smokers are 4 to 5 times more likely than non-smokers to suffer from snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea,”explains Snore Australia.
Incorporating nasal treatments is also another option. In particular, a nasal spray containing MSM (source of organic sulphur) could assist. In a trial using MSM, sufferers of chronic snoring where given 16% MSM drops in a water solution in each nostril 15 minutes prior to bed. 80% reported reductions in snoring with no side effects whatsoever in 90 days.
If you’re waking up tired and not feeling you’re getting the restful sleep you need then perhaps snoring might be the culprit and a further look into why this might be happening could help you find ways to reduce and prevent it.
Do you find you are lacking energy and wondering how you are going to make it through the crazy festive time leading up to Christmas?
If you’re looking to increase your energy levels and as an added bonus improve your general well-being plus relieve any niggling joint aches and pain at the same time, then it’s worth considering the health supplement MSM.
MSM a source of organic Sulphur, is a mineral needed for every day good health and relief from many of today’s health problems.
As we age our Sulphur supplies decrease and even though MSM is found naturally in fruits, vegetables and other plants, due to the way foods are processed today the amount of MSM we receive has been markedly reduced, making the need for supplementation important. MSM provides this in a bio available form and is an excellent form of health insurance.
For general well-being a daily serving of one teaspoon (approx. 4g) of MSM in water or unsweetened juice might be just the extra boost you are looking for to help get you through the festive season and beyond.
In addition to this, MSM’s antioxidant properties and the ability to eliminate and flush toxins are very helpful during this very indulgent time. Not to mention the extra beauty benefits due to Sulphur assisting with collagen and keratin production. Which means smoother and softer skin, shinier hair and stronger nails, all nice extras to enjoy during this social time!
Start MSM today and breeze through the silly season with an extra pep in your step!
