MSM Powder Vs Distilled MSM

We are often asked the question what is the difference between MSM Powder and Distilled MSM, so we thought it might be worth sharing the explanation. While
both look and taste the same the difference between the two lies in the manufacturing process.

MSM Powder is manufactured using a crystallisation method called centrifuge (fast spinning method) where crystals are captured on the side of the tank.
We still call this MSM Powder because the word “powder” has become synonymous with MSM. Both forms of MiSMo MSM are crystals.

The manufacturing process for Distilled MSM is much more intense, resulting in a super purified product. Distilled MSM goes through a 4 stage distillation
process where steam is captured at the very top and impurities fall to the bottom, which ensures the highest purity. This more involved manufacturing
process is why the cost is higher for this product.

When we talk about purity in terms of the manufacturing process this refers to the highest quality water of water used and the analysis of the crystals
meeting the highest standards possible what is called the Certificate of Analysis. Pure also means NO additives which include the extra little ingredients
many companies use to keep the crystals from becoming hard. If your MSM is not perfectly clear when dissolved something has been added – gospel truth.

Something extra to note in regards to MSM, is there are also varying grades. MiSMo MSM is the highest grade – pharmaceutical grade, which is a fantastic
point of difference for MiSMo MSM. Both MSM’s are also listed with the TGA.

Cell Soother and Your Pets

Cell Soother is an extremely versatile product with so many uses, and it turns out these
are not just exclusively for you and I either – Your pets can benefit greatly too.

Cell Soother is essentially an MSM Gel. MSM (Organic Sulphur) and Organic Aloe Vera work in synergy to calm and soothe any inflammation together with healing
and relieving any hot, sore and painful areas – whether it be skin or paw related!

From swollen paws due to jumping ants, Cell Soother can provide relief quickly (which evidently turned out to be more effective than the expensive visit
to the vet!) To pets suffering from skin conditions like Eczema that result in incessant scratching and itching, Cell Soother has been able to calm
and soothe in these instances.

One friends little dog loved the ocean but used to suffer terrible itching afterward from some mite or organism in the water. They were prescribed all
sorts of treatments from the vet which did not work so eventually tried Cell Soother and the result was one happy little dog. Happy owners too for
such a small price.

In another case a working dog was attacked by a wild pig. The poor dog received an awful gash on the neck. The couple was looking at several hundred dollars
in vet fees so they elected to give the dog an antibiotic to prevent infection and treat the gash themselves. Using just Cell Soother on the wound,
the healing was remarkable and so fast .

Even as a spot treatment for joint pain and arthritis in older pets, Cell Soother provides pain relief and assists with reducing inflammation. If you wanted
to take it one step further, you are also able to give MSM to your pets too. In particular ageing pets can enjoy significant relief if using Cell Soother
topically and taking MSM internally.

MSM (Organic Sulphur) And You

Do you endure pain from arthritis, joint pain or gout? Maybe you have a skin condition. If so read on.

Sulphur plays many important roles in your body and is what makes a big difference to many specific health and skin conditions like pain, arthritis, allergies,
acne and rosacea.

We often need to supplement sulphur and MSM is the ideal and easy way to do this.

MSM is a source of organic sulphur and can help you manage your health issues so you start enjoying life and hobbies again pain free.

Did you know that Sulfur is the eighth most abundant element in all living organisms?

“In our bodies, sulphur forms part of virtually all tissue, especially those highest in protein, such as red blood cells, muscles, skin and hair,” explains
Dr Stanley Jacobs in the book, The Miracle of MSM.

“Sulfur is a major ingredient of important amino acids – the building blocks of protein. Proteins are the primary constituents of enzymes, hormones,
antibodies and the countless biochemical activities continually going on in the body.”

Sulphur also plays a major role in the body’s other systems, including detoxification, helping to convert carbohydrates into energy, regulating normal
insulin functionality and combining vital metabolic intermediates, such as glutathione (also known as the master antioxidant).

You can find Sulphur in certain foods like fish, organic beef and poultry, organic pasturised eggs, garlic and onions just to list a few, although,
you would need to eat 450g of garlic a day in order to get the recommended daily dose of sulphur – that’s a lot of garlic!

With having to consume large amounts of certain foods to get our sulphur fix coupled with the shift in modern diets to processed types foods, air pollution
and agricultural changes, our bodies just aren’t getting the sulphur it needs and requires for every day living, so supplementing it with MSM is a
great way to ensure your sulphur levels remain topped up.

Benefits of MSM

What is MSM?

Methyl Sulfonyl Methane (MSM) is a natural organic form of sulphur. Sulphur is an essential element we need every day for good health and relief from
many of today’s health problems. Sulphur is the fourth largest mineral found in the human body, and is also found in meat, dairy products and vegetables.

Quality MSM is a crystal and looks like sugar. These crystals have a very tiny molecular weight so enter the body easily, either when taken orally or used
as in gel or cream containing MSM.

Benefits Of MSM

Joint & Muscle Care

According to the foremost expert on MSM, Stanley W. Jacob, M.D., the substance, when taken as a supplement, exerts potent anti-inflammatory activity,
stops pain impulses and muscle spasm, and improves blood supply. MSM strengthens the collagen and the other connective tissue in the joints, it also
allows the body to heal faster by making the tissues even stronger.

It is an essential nutrient for your joint, bone and muscle health and helps conditions like arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis.

Improves Skin, Hair & Nail Health

MSM is necessary for collagen production, as we grow older we do not produce as much collagen which in turn results in wrinkles, saggy skin, dry and
cracked skin. The sulphur provided by MSM produces large quantities of collagen and keratin, which is essential for healthy skin, hair and nails.

MSM is known as the ‘Beauty Mineral’ for skin, hair and nails, sagging skin and wrinkles, as well as dry, cracked skin are all developed through a
loss of collagen. MSM works together with Vitamin C to build new, healthy tissues. MSM can normalize collagen formation and radically improve skin
health and dramatically reduce the signs of ageing.

Detoxification

One of MSM’s most significant benefits is that it enhances the permeability of your cell membranes, this allows increased absorption of nutrients and
speedier expulsion of excess fluids and toxins. Therefore detoxifying your cells of toxic waste products and enabling your body to better utilise the
nutrients you are consuming. It has been widely reported that many health practitioners working with MSM state that it is the most powerful detoxifying
supplement they have ever worked with.

Increased Energy Levels

As a result of the increased permeability of the cells, your body requires less energy to deal with the accumulation of toxins. This results in more
energy being redirected towards activity and necessary healing. Digestion is the biggest energy requirement of the body – we spend 70-80% of our energy
is spent on digestion , MSM increases the absorption of nutrients therefore our energy expenditure on digestion is vastly reduced.

Sulphur the Underrated Mineral (MSM)

Do you know what role sulphur plays in your body? It’s an extremely underrated mineral, however, very much needed for so many bodily functions.

“Sulfur is the eighth most abundant element in all living organisms. In our bodies, it forms part of virtually all tissue, especially those highest in
protein, such as red blood cells, muscles, skin and hair,” explains Dr Stanley Jacobs in the book, The Miracle of MSM.

Dr Jacobs goes on to say, “Sulfur is a major ingredient of important amino acids – the building blocks of protein. Proteins are the primary constituents
of enzymes, hormones, antibodies and the countless biochemical activities continually going on in the body.”

Sulphur also plays a major role in the body’s other systems, including detoxification, helping to convert carbohydrates into energy, regulating normal
insulin functionality and combining vital metabolic intermediates, such as glutathione (also known as the master antioxidant), explains an expert.

Sulphur can be found in certain foods including fish, organic beef and poultry, organic pasturised eggs, garlic, onion, brussel sprouts, asparagus, kale,
and wheat germ. Although, you would need to eat for example 450g of garlic a day in order to get the recommended daily dose of sulphur – that’s a lot
of garlic and a lot of garlic breath to deal with every day!

With having to consume large amounts of certain foods to get our sulphur fix coupled with the shift in modern diets to processed types foods, air pollution
and agricultural changes,  our bodies just aren’t getting the sulphur it needs and requires for every day living, so supplementing it with
MSM is a great way to ensure your sulphur levels remain topped up.

It also turns out those important roles sulphur plays in your body can make a big difference to many specific health and skin conditions like pain, arthritis,
allergies, acne and rosacea.

Do Dogs Need MSM?

MSM (Methyl Sulfonyl Methane) is a sulphur supplement that has gained a huge following
due to its ability to reduce pain, inflammation and the associated effects of arthritis in humans – but do dogs and cats need MSM too?

As pets age they suffer similar ailments to us, and the degradation of joints or osteoarthritis is one such problem. It can be hard to watch your four
legged friend age, as running makes way for a shuffling walk, stairs take longer, and lying on the floor becomes easier than getting up onto their
favourite couch.

An MSM supplement can replace the sulphur that your pet is lacking, reduce inflammation and importantly, provide pain relief which will be a big step towards
improving their quality of life. MSM is widely recognized by vets as one of the most effective treatments for age or injury related joint problems.

Does my dog need MSM?

A young dog on a well-balanced, raw diet will probably not need MSM, however older dogs, or those fed on commercial pet food should be given an MSM supplement,
as natural MSM is easily destroyed during cooking.

How much MSM can I give my dog or cat?

If your pet is showing signs of stiff joints, simply mix 500mg of MSM powder per 12kg (eg. for a 24kg dog, use 1g – around 1/4 tsp) into their drinking
water once a day, or sprinkle on their food, wet food can be a little easier. If your pet is over 40kg, use 1 teaspoon of MSM daily. MSM is an odourless
white crystal, which becomes colourless, and mostly tasteless when dissolved in enough water, so feeding it to your pet won’t be a struggle. (If however,
you have an exceptional fussy eater, try dissolving the MSM with a stock cube).

Other benefits of MSM include healthy skin and fur, stronger nails, and allergy relief!

What can I use Magnesium Oil for?

It seems Magnesium Oil and Magnesium Chloride Powder have quite a number of other uses in addition to their traditional pain relief uses.

Brushing Teeth

Did you know that Magnesium can offer your teeth and gums some wonderful health benefits? By incorporating Magnesium Oil into your daily teeth brushing
routine means less plaque and healthier teeth and gums. You can simply add a few drops to your toothbrush or even your toothpaste.

Mineral Water

Fancy some homemade mineral water? You can use your Magnesium Chloride Powder to turn regular water into mineral water. Drinking water high in Magnesium
has long been documented to provide many health benefits and as magnesium water is very easily absorbed by the body it’s a great way to get your daily
Magnesium dose. To make your own mineral water add 1/2 tsp of Magnesium Chloride Powder to 1L distilled water. For an extra Vitamin C boost, why not
add some limes or lemons and for a bit of fun you can always carbonate it to.

Foot Soak

Of course there is also the beautifully, relaxing, magnesium foot soak, which I personally think is not utilised enough! How easy is it to take 20 mins
out of your day to dip your feet into a warm, magnesium soak, sit back and immerse yourself in the very sedative qualities of magnesium. It’s the perfect
way to end a busy day, will help you to sleep soundly and give your feet a well deserved break! Just add ¼ cup of Magnesium Chloride Powder to a bucket
of warm water. You can also reuse your foot soak, you will just need to reheat the water.

Headaches

Suffering from headaches? Dab a small amount of Magnesium Oil on your temples and massage a little onto the back of your neck and let the Magnesium do
its work to relieve tensions and muscle spasms. In some instances, people have found relief from migraines using Magnesium both orally and transdermally.
Research studies have shown that Magnesium can affect the brain structure and chemicals associated with migraines.

Skin Tags

Have you got any skin tags? In case you aren’t familiar with skin tags, they are tiny soft skin growths that hang from the skin. Well you can say goodbye
to skin tags with the help of Magnesium Oil. Anecdotal comments report that they have had success in reducing and eliminating skin tags. Just apply
the magnesium oil directly to the skin tag regularly each day and watch them decrease over the weeks.

With so many uses for Magnesium, it would make sense to have this versatile mineral on hand for every household.

MSM – PAIN RELIEF FOR YOUR FOUR-LEGGED BEST MATE TOO

Have you noticed your older dog or cat is walking more slowly? Or hesitating to jump up on the bed or sofa to snuggle like they once
did? This can be a sign they are having issues with their joints. If you are concerned your pet is having mobility issues due to pain, Methyl Sulfonyl
Methane (MSM) has been widely acclaimed by vets and horse studs as an excellent option to aid in equine health care and pet ailments such as arthritis.

Horse’s Friend

Although it is not widely known, MSM has for  many years been used as a food supplement in both the equine and pet industry in the United States.
MSM has been used to prevent and soothe back pain in horses that experience discomfort when moving, hair loss, sores around the area of the saddle
and bruising. Horses with symptoms of back pain have shown signs of improvement, and improved recovery times, when given MSM.

Growth above the knee known as epiphysitis can be caused by a high protein diet in growing horses. MSM can be used to relieve issues such as these while
assisting in the reduction of inflammation and increasing blood circulation.

Other issues that MSM can relieve in horses include Equine protozoal myeloencephalitis and arthritis.

Arthritis in Pets

MSM is believed to assist in restoring healthy joints in humans and pets. Pets are unable to tell us when they are in pain and we can watch for signs they
are suffering. However, as MSM is a totally safe organic sulphur it can easily be used as a preventative approach to help avoid them suffering altogether.
MSM blocks pain and also reduces inflammation. It enhances the activity of cortisol which is a body’s natural hormone that acts as an anti-inflammatory.

Further health benefits of MSM for your pets include:

  • Antioxidant to help reduce the production of cancer causing free radicals.  Improved energy, skin and healthy coat.
  • Your pet deserves the best care and preventative measures to keep them comfortable. MiSMO offers an MSM supplement that can assist in reducing pain and
inflammation for a healthier, happier pet.

  • Detoxification to allow better elimination of waste products and better absorption of needed nutrients
  • Allergies can be alleviated by providing a natural block from allergens
  • Parasites such as roundworms and Giardia can be prevented as the MSM acts as an antiparasitic
  • Risk for diabetes can be reduced as MSM provides sulphur to improve cellular glucose uptake to promote healthy blood sugar levels
  • Show your best friend some love and get them onto a daily dose of MiSMo’s MSM too.

    MSM Pain Relief for Pets

For many people, their pets become part of the family and it’s heartbreaking when they are in pain.  One of the latest food supplements proven to extend the quality of life for ageing and pain inflicted pets, is MSM.

MSM (also known as Organic Sulphur) is a safe and effective supplement to give to your pets.  It has the same toxicity as water!

    How does MSM work?

MSM is a natural anti-inflammatory.  MSM supports the sulphur bonds between proteins such as keratin within hair, skin and nails, connective tissue and cartilage within joints.  A deficiency in sulphur supplied to these protein bonds can lead to stiff joints and joint pain.

It is difficult and sometimes toxic to include enough sulphur enriched foods into animal’s diets to ensure they are getting what they need.  Foods which contain sulphur include eggs, spinach, broccoli and onion – although onion should never be given to dogs.

Although people tend to drink MSM with a glass of water or mixed with juice, animals are unlikely to drink their entire bowl of water within a day.  There are benefits to adding a pinch to their water bowl, but their daily dosage is best mixed in their food.  In some studies, animals that were given MSM in their water supplies had lower death rates and liver damage as well as longer life expectancy than control groups.  Depending on how fussy your pets are, you may be able to disguise the flavour by adding it to their wet food (i.e. tinned dog food) or by mixing it into a sauce/gravy over dried food.  It does have a bitter taste (as you will know if you take it yourself).

Organic Sulphur relieves inflammation and enhances circulation.  MSM has been well documented in alleviating pain in animals caused by arthritis.  Some vets prescribe Asprin for arthritis, but this could result in gastrointestinal problems such as haemorrhaging or ulcers.  A single dose of Asprin for a cat can be fatal.  Dr. Reigel; a vet and author, reported giving a cat which was dragging its back legs and moving very slowly, MSM.  Given MSM daily, the same cat was reported to be sprinting around as if it were a one year old again.  Our own customers have reported great results for themselves and in their pets.

In the US, MSM has been used largely with working, racetrack and show ring horses.  Horses given MSM showed a delayed onset of tumours, equivalent to 10 years in humans as well as improved condition in those that suffered from sore backs.  Symptoms of a sore back in horses includes discomfort, bruising, hair loss or open sores in the saddle area.

Dosage depends on the animal you have and it’s weight.

Horses:  450kg horse – one gram of MSM per 45kg of body weight twice a day or as directed by your vet.

Dogs:  Feed 500mg (1/2 gram) of MSM once a day per 12kg of body weight.  For dogs over 40kg, feed 1 teaspoon (5 grams) of MSM daily.

Other conditions where MSM can help your pets include:

              Acral lick Granulomas

Acne (yes dogs can get acne)

Cataracts – although not a cure, MSM can help tremendously with blood circulation for early stages

              Diabetes

              Diabetes Insipidus Disorder

              Epilepsy and Seizures

              Feline Leukaemia

              Giardia

              Hip Dysplasia

Hot spots – skin infections which have an oozing discharge

              Lupus – immune disorder

              Itching

Improve coat shine and skin conditions

Once they are part of the family, there is nothing we wouldn’t do for our pets!  Luckily MSM is one supplement which can significantly improve the quality of life for those that are suffering, so they can enjoy a longer, fuller (and no doubt pampered) life.
