MINERAL FOUNDATION BRUSH

The quality of the brush used to apply Mineral makeup is critical if you are to achieve a flawless finish for your Mineral makeup. Please don't make the mistake of thinking "I have a brush at home, it will do". This is such a common mistake and it is not worth spoiling a flawless finish. We heavily discount the brushes to encourage you to start off the right way.

MiSMo Mineral Makeup Foundation Kabuki brushes are a professional quality used by makeup artists. The brush is dense with luxurious extremely soft, natural goat's hair. They are absolutely guaranteed animal cruelty free.

Dimensions: Overall 5.5cm. Hair 3.5cm long. Diameter 5cm. Perfect size for applying mineral foundation.

Shape is also important. A Kabuki or Dome shaped head is used for loose minerals. MiSMo mineral foundation brushes have been specifically designed to work with MiSMo Mineral powder and container size. The brush head is a perfect fit to work from the container lid. A good brush is an investment and will last for many years if looked after.

To apply minerals: Shake a small amount of minerals into the lid. First conceal any marks and pimples with a large eyeshadow brush. Then dip the brush and swirl around. Tap excess powder off the brush onto container. Apply in downward strokes starting at the nose, working toward the ear. Stroke across forehead.

The fine hairs on the face grow downward hence the reason for downward strokes. Many companies recommend circular  buffing with the Kabuki brush. In the end experimenting is the best way to find what best suits you but always finish with downward strokes.

Tips:
  • If you see powder in the air as you apply minerals you have used too much.
  • Tap the base of the brush on the counter to disperse the powder deeper into the bristles
  • Professional makeup is all about blending whether it is the face or eyes. Blending gives a more natural look.

Maintenance: Wash your brushes regularly - every 1-2 weeks - in a gentle shampoo - it's natural hair. Dispense a small amount of shampoo in your wet hand. Wet the brush and swish the brush around in the shampoo in your hand. Rinse well and shake excess water from the brush. Lay the brush on its side on a clean towel and allow to dry. Try not to get water into the handle as this may loosen the glue.

Two good reasons to keep your brush clean:
1. to prevent build up of oil and makeup which will give a less flawless result.
2. bacteria can grow in dirty brushes
